August 25 Fort Collins, CO Event

WH women's coats O:
Fort Collins community volunteers from local nonprofits and for-profits will host hurting neighbors as honored guests for a "poverty-free day" with The Convoy of Hope.

WHAT:
Thousands of Fort Collins residents—many America's "working poor"—receive some $1 million in goods and services in a single day and lasting solutions to needs such as groceries, dental and medical screenings, kids zone activities, haircuts, portraits, athletic shoes, clothing, car seats, back-to-school supplies, job fair, prayer time and spiritual guidance, live entertainment with free lunch and more.

This community event is one of dozens of stops along a 50-state, $50 million tour of hope and help for the 46 million Americans currently living in poverty—the largest number on record.*

An exciting new partnership at these outreach events is with the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Free breast cancer screenings are being offered to combat the higher breast cancer death rates among poor women, due to lack of access to early detection and treatment. "Right now, there are millions of women in America – including 'working poor' women – who don't have insurance and can't afford the cost of a mammogram. Without a mammogram, these women are at risk of being diagnosed too late," according to Janelle Hail, Founder/CEO National Breast Cancer Foundation.
